Flory Family Story

“Staying at Ronald McDonald House was a huge relief, as hotel costs would have been a big financial stressor,” said his mom Nichole. “The House was nice and had everything we needed and more! The staff was so friendly and welcoming.”

Meet the Flory Family

Remi was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia that was discovered at birth. He needed life-saving oxygen and surgery within the first few days of life and was airlifted to Indianapolis for care.

Remi’s family lives about 3 hours away from Indianapolis, making the commute very challenging. His parents also could not sleep in his NICU room due to his ECMO equipment. Thankfully, Remi’s parents were able to get a room at the Ronald McDonald House within a few days of Remi’s arrival.

“Staying at Ronald McDonald House was a huge relief, as hotel costs would have been a big financial stressor,” said his mom Nichole. “The House was nice and had everything we needed and more! The staff was so friendly and welcoming,” Nichole continued. The family stayed with us just under a month until Remi was discharged home. “We are so grateful to have had this resource.”

“Staying at the House made Remi’s unexpected hospital stay so much more comfortable for us, and we continue to be thankful for the help we received during that difficult time.” – Nichole
